Who are we?

I am Lucy Horner running a family business, Francis Iles Gallery, established in 1961 I pride myself on years of extensive knowledge and helpful customer service.

How do we collect information from you?

Our websites automatically capture some information about visitors when they browse through our website, for example when you contact us about our products and services, or if you register to receive one of our newsletters.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when. If you purchase a product from us online, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third-party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. Francis Iles Gallery is committed to protecting consumer credit card data in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Our alignment with this standard is reflected in the technology and processes that we use.

If you use the Own Art Scheme, we act as a Data Processor on behalf of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC trading as Novuna Personal Finance who is the Data Controller. Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC's own Privacy Policy for further information on how they use and store your personal information.

How is your information used?

  • to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us
  • dealing with entries into a competition

  • send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may include information about events, activities, promotions, goods and services and processing a grant or job application.

We will review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or for as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us, or until you tell us that you no longer wish to subscribe to our newsletters and offers.

Who has access to your information?

We can assure you that we will not sell or rent your information to third parties, nor will we share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf: We may pass your information to our third-party service providers, for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to process payments and send you newsletters). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and all third-party suppliers must also be GDPR compliant. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties, beyond our service providers, for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) also places cookies on your computer, to enable Google to provide us with activity reports relating to the sites. Google uses this data only to provide us with information on how users use the Sites and does not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. The information generated by Google cookies about your use of the platform (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. You may refuse these cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser or by downloading and installing the browser plug-ins available.

Your choices

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters, or any other special communication from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by emailing gallery@francis-iles.com or pressing the unsubscribe button on our emails. Or if you are giving us your details when purchasing a picture you can opt in or out of receiving further information from us by ticking the relevant box.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, telephone or post unless you have given your prior consent. How you can access and update your information

The accuracy of your information is important to us. We are working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. In the meantime, if you change your email address, or if any other information that we currently hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at: gallery@francis-iles.com. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information Francis Iles holds about you. We may charge £10 for information requests to cover our administration costs in providing you with these details.

Security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information.

When you give us personal information, we will always ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected by our third-party payment processors. Non-sensitive details (your email address etc) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
