Adèle is primarily an acrylic painter. She also draws with oil pastels which allow her to work quickly with colour to express emotion, layer memories and blend the surfaces in a similar approach to her painting process. The difference is that when Adèle paints, the work evolves over weeks. Each time she enters the studio, from blank canvas to finishing stages, she empties her mind and only brings the mood of the day to inform and shape the painting’s development. The process is organic and emotionally driven. Adèle just knows when the painting is working and sharing something. With landscape references drawn from memory, she dialogues with abstract colour relationships that spontaneously emerge as she immerses herself in the process.
