Julia Valtsefer was born in St Petersburg into a family of artists. In 1987 she graduated from the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St Petersburg. Since then she has been professionally engaged in painting, and a member of the Artist’s Union of St Petersburg.
She has participated in more than 60 exhibitions, and her work is in the State Art Museum, Samara State Art Museum and the Novosibirsk State Art Museum, as well as in private collections in Russia, Germany, Portugal, USA, France, Brazil and the UK.
Her palette of vibrant oil is used in a tapestry of shapes and form that weave timeless portraits and vistas of dream like gardens which we would all like to inhabit. She injects depth and a sensory perception of her subjects that delights the eye, and the serenity of her own character is conveyed from her work to the viewer.
