“My paintings reflect a positive view of life, I hope that like a good book, they have a narrative that to some degree you can get lost in.”
Jeremy’s love of colour and light has taken him all around the world, using a combination of architecture and vintage cars to set the scene for the viewer. His paintings all have a dark, orange gesso base, which when painted over gives an incredible depth of colour and luminosity to his work. Using fragments of credit card to paint with like a palette knife, he saturates colour into his subject, and his use of light and shadow emphasises the drama of his work further. Influenced by Edward Hopper’s atmospheric landscapes, Jeremy too is a master story teller, drawing on strong emotions and memories.
Born in 1969, he studied at St Martins School of Art, graduating with a first class honours degree. A Prince’s Youth Business Trust gold medal winner, he now mentors for the Prince’s Trust. As well as an appreciative public, his work has been commissioned and collected by NatWest, Fat Face, Saga and Cunard.
